Netsmartz with Officer Tibbetts
Williams Elementary third and fifth graders kicked off their Digital Citizenship lessons with RSU 18 Resource Officer, Pete Tibbetts, discussing internet safety. Officer Tibbetts addressed protecting private information while gaming or posting online as well as how to deal with cyberbullies. Students discussed the importance of asking their grownups permission before gaming or posting anything online and having account settings on Private to ensure they were only interacting with people they know. Officer Tibbetts emphasized telling a trusted adult if someone they don’t know tries to talk to them online or if they are cyberbullied. This was a great start to the students’ year long learning about Digital Citizenship. #WeAreRSU18 #WESproud18
