Scholastic Book Fair + Read-A-Thon 2024

Williams Elementary School would like to send out a huge thank you to our wonderful RSU 18 community for their generous donations to the school’s spring Read-A-thon. Williams students read a total of 26,708 minutes (beating their 25,000 minutes goal) and $4,361.25 was raised! In the past, read-a-thon funds raised have been used to fund the following: field trips and guest speakers, shirts for every child at WES, Mad Science presentations and stations, soak and wet alternative dunk tank and the rental of an inflatable obstacle course for field day, and books for their March Madness Nonfiction Book Tournament to name a few.

Congratulations to third grader, Olivia Moody, who recorded the most minutes read (2,490 minutes). She was awarded a 60 second Scholastic shopping spree. Third grader, Jack Stetkis, was the school’s top fundraiser and he will have an opportunity to cover Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Solis with silly string today, May 20th when they are duct taped to the wall! He will also be able to select a book from the book fair.

All Read-a-thon participants were placed into a drawing for golden tickets of varying amounts to spend at the fair. Congratulations to the five lucky winners of the golden tickets: Emily Clifford Bickford, Allie Pelletier, Brady Lee, Miley Chapman, and Brady Shorey.

The WES Scholastic Book Fair will be open Monday, May 20 (8:15 – 10:30am and 2:15 – 4pm) and Tuesday, May 21 (8:15 – 10:30am). There is still time to buy books for summer reading!  The school will also be drawing 15 more student names on Monday for children to select a book of choice from the fair!

We hope to see you shopping at the Williams Elementary fair! #WeAreRSU18 #WESproud18
