WES Kindness Crew Kicks Off a New Community Service Project

On Monday, November 4, our kindness crew announced a new project.  Their new kindness activity is to do a food and supplies drive for the Waterville Humane Society. The Humane Society was formed in 1954 to prevent cruelty to animals. The Humane Society’s mission is to create a humane and sustainable world for all animals and they are committed to protecting all animals worldwide through a variety of means.

The Kindness Crew felt it would be a great community service project to support our local Humane Society by collecting items they are in constant need of in order to support their mission. They provide shelter, food, play, all while finding permanent homes for animals in need.  By collecting these items our students will be spreading kindness to the animals and those that work at the Waterville Humane Society.

We will be collecting these items through the month of November and we plan to present the items to the Humane Society at our December 2 Champions Assembly. The Kindness Crew felt that November was a great month to show their thanks to the humane society for providing services to, and being a champion for, our local animals.  Posters have been hung around the school that list items we will be collecting. Some items we are looking for are toys for the animals and wet and dry food for cats and dogs. We appreciate any donation you can give. If you would like to donate stop by WES and drop items off at the office. Booker T. Washington once said, “Those that are the happiest are those that do the most for others.”
