Scholastic Book Fair, Summer Reading Challenge & Fall Fiction Kickoff
Before summer vacation, Williams 3rd and 4th graders, along with incoming 3rd graders from Atwood, received reading challenges, including a colorful carnival-themed map. Students who returned their completed challenges by September 8 were rewarded with 3–4 brand-new books purchased with Scholastic Dollars earned from previous book fairs. Thanks to the strong support of families and staff, Williams is able to put more books in the hands of students and teachers throughout the year. The excitement continued with the Fall Fiction Celebration! The second annual event kicked off with a school-wide field trip to Lemieux’s Orchard in Vassalboro, where students, staff, and families rotated through apple picking, corn mazes, sunflower strolls, games with Mr. Wilcox, and a special read-aloud. Over the next several weeks, the school will hear five read-alouds in total before voting on a community favorite. #WeAreRSU18 #WESproud18
